Hello, my name is Brett Caldwell
I am the owner of East Idaho Cyber Defense. Since 2013, I have been proud to call southeast Idaho my home. East Idaho has such a unique sense of community. The friendly people have made it a very special place for me, my wife, and our kids. I have always wanted to find a way to add my own contribution as a member of that community.
Over the years, I've had friends and family contact me with a variety of cyber security issues. I have enjoyed sharing my own talents and expertise with them, but I wanted to find a way to provide that service more consistently and to a broader audience than just family and friends. With these goals in mind, I founded East Idaho Cyber Defense to provide individuals and small businesses with the expertise and assistance they need to secure their online assets. Most people don't know how to prevent, defend, or respond to cyber attacks, and I'm excited to help them do that!
My Story
In 2010, I got my first job in cyber security. Since that time, I have specialized in a variety of cyber security roles, including digital forensics, incident response, malware reverse engineering, cyber threat intelligence, and ethical hacking. The breadth and depth of experience I've had in both offensive and defensive roles have helped me to develop and maintain a capable skillset against a variety of threat actors.
I have personally investigated several hundred hacked websites, analyzed a myriad of malicious software samples of every kind, and stopped numerous denial-of-service attacks. I have tracked nation-state sponored threat groups that target the US and her allies. I have analyzed their attacks, investigated their post-intrusion activities, and disrupted their operations actively and passively. I have worked for technology companies, top security vendors, and major financials. I am well prepared to support the good people of southeast Idaho against any kind of threat.
